The AYU Digital Asset Fund Forum

27th April 2023

crypto conference for hedge funds and family offices in london

AYU members and guests join us for a day of insight and education from titans of the digital asset investment sector.

Institutional investors, hedge funds and family offices joined us for the AYU Digital Asset Fund Forum on April 27th 2023, a high calibre, boutique gathering at the heart of hedge fund land in Mayfair.

This fully subscribed crypto networking event was packed out with a new wave of institutional investors interested in the digital asset sector. Crypto funds, established funds adding crytpo strategies, along with family offices interested in crypto but not yet in and allocators interested in the newest hedge fund strategy we have.

An extensive full day agenda saw panels “Crypto Fund of Funds: Where do we go from here?” and “Family Office and Digital assets” chaired by Mona El Isa of Avant Garde.

The first was a fascinating discussion around how crucial the rebirth of fund of funds is to the growth and evolution of the nascent digital asset fund market with Peter Rigg of Aaro Capital, Anatoly Crachilov of Nickel Digital, Carl Szantyr of Blockstone Capital, and Alessandro Balata of Fasanara Capital. Whilst the second focused on family offices investing directly in to digital assets and digital asset funds, and also from funds raising capital from the family office community. These insights were courtesy of Patrick Martin and Aditya Nagarsheth both of private offices, Milchael Silberberg of Altab Capital and Jean-Marc Bonnefous of Tellurian Capital.

Our central panel “Evolving digital asset infrastructure” was presented by Elliot Refson of Jersey Finance discussing the challenges of the last year for digital asset funds and builders, with Lewis Fellas of Lark’s Leaf, Tara Mac Aulay of Lantern Ventures, Oliver Butlin of Elwood and James Edwards of Gilded.

A delicious networking lunch, bought to us by Go Quant, was followed by a fireside chat with Anatoly Crachilov of Nickel Digital Asset Management and James Stickland of Elwood.

The AYU pitch off brought the attendees a host of compelling pitches from Lantern Ventures, Altab Capital, Bytetree, Stylus Capital, Starboard Digital Strategies fund, Active Digital Asset Management. We wrapped up the day with drinks and prize giving, many congratulations to the AYU pitch off winner, Douggie Melville-Clarke of Active Digital Asset Management who delivered a cracking round down of this cutting-edge crypto firm specialising in quantitative trading.

This event was sponsored by Elwood, GoQuant, Blockdaemon and Jersey Finance. Also a big thank you goes out to 100 Women In Finance for their support and contribution.
