AYU Presents: The Emerging Manager Conference
The Emerging Manager Conference (EMC) is a boutique event designed to connect young and growing hedge funds with early-stage seed investors and experts in hedge fund launches. The inaugural all-day event in February 2022 focused on hedge fund launch and growth success, operating as an education and networking-rich occasion.
As with most AYU events, attendance was strictly limited to a small number of guests (80) from funds and allocators, with only sponsoring service providers present. This means that a) most guests can meet each other across the day and not have any “missed connections” and b) the ratio of people that guests want to meet at an event like this is at its mot beneficial.
Hosted in partnership with Jersey Finance, the conference combined a range of insightful talks and discussions with start-ups experts, multiple networking opportunities, one-two-one pitch and surgery sessions, and the first-ever AYU Pitch-Off, a Dragon’s Den style fund-pitch competition, presented by prime brokerage partner Cowen.
AYU member funds Kernow Asset Management, Marlowe Capital, Altis Partners/Blockchain.com Asset Management, Kvasir Technologies, Allemuir Capital, and Nickel Digital all pitched to an elite panel of experts - with the inaugural Pitch-Off prize going to Charles McGarraugh of Altis Partners/Blockchain.com Asset Management.
The event was hosted by speaker and sales specialist, Mr Ravi Rajani at The May Fair Hotel, in the heart of London’s hedge fund district. A big thank you to those who came and we cannot wait to see you at the next one!
